  I guess time will tell. I tried to find more varification, this is all I found.

  I'm surprized at hearing this bit of info below....can anyone verify this statement other then from the above link?

  just nothing more than a 'share'..... i was in pittsburgh on business and took a day off and paid a visit to russells grave.. i haven't stopped laughing since.

  i'm worried i'm going to break ribs.. had i seen this as a young kid/adult.....i surely would have thought "wtf???".

  folks...if you ever needed confirmation this whole thing is a laughable cult......make your way to pittsburgh and see chuck's resting spot.......its worth it just get pictures with his pyramid.. lol.

  My heart goes out to you

  I don't know if this will be any help to you. In many life situations one has to play a certain game.....sorry but it's a fact of life. For instance, my bosses are blatant money grubbing users...... as much as I'd love to quit or give them a piece of my mind.....I have to be diplomatic and keep my mouth shut if I want my job. Ha....and at times my friends will cook a meal they're raving about with no nutritional value and looks like shit..... but again I keep my mouth shut.....as much as I'd love to say something.......

  It's how you look at things. Since you're in this percarious situation which is the best way for YOU to deal with the situation? Some feel the need to come clean.....some can pull this off for a while........

  If you really knew the truth of how many JW's really live a double standard, your head would spin....elders have many a story of things that go on within a congregation.......

  That being said.....since I know how sensitive this subject is with family (& how I once was), when occasion arises and I feel the need, I usually say things like....I dunno....I think something is wrong......things don't feel right (what ever the reason is)........but as of late..........I don't feel the need to defend anymore........I lay low......I can see little by little TTATT is chipping away at the WTS.......

  Please don't feel rushed into anything.....do things AT YOUR PACE. If and when you're ready......that's the time.... don't feel bad about what ANYONE ELSE THINKS OR DOES.........you're in charge, not someone else who is not living your life........relax......be kind to yourself.... it really is an excerise in patience with the ones you love and ones self.....

  i had been studying with the jehovah's witnesses for the last couple years.

  they have been interesting study sessions and have learned quite a bit about them and their beliefs.

  much of what they teach is what i had learned through personal bible study.. growing up was normal.

  Did Jesus ever claim he had to die for our sins?

  so for those that have been keeping up: i have recently become fascinated with the lost gospels as well as the history of the four cannon gospels (matthew, mark, luke, and john) and as some may say the "historical jesus".. i am fascinated by the variations in who jesus was and what he did according to different traditions and texts.

  one thing that provoked me the other day is that the coptics/gnostics do not believe jesus "died for our sins".

  which explains why an i have never been accosted infront of my favorite drinking hole my a glassy eyed 20 year old with a pamphlet in their hand asking if i am "saved".. so this got me thinking..... i don't recall jesus ever claiming to have to die for our sins in matthew, mark, luke or john either?

  I did find info which says Jews believe exactly that.....

  On the other hand.....Leviticus 17:11: "For the soul of the flesh is in the blood and I have assigned it for you upon the altar to provide atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that atones for the soul." and Leviticus 17:10-12

  I gather since I live in a highly hasidic jewish area that would be easy enough.

  In my web search I came accross one interesting Rabbi with an interesting prediction......saying the name "Jesus" as the future messiah..........

  i was giving this new understanding from the annual meeting some thought and several things struck me as odd.

  first and foremost the gb has now essentially set themselves up to be even superior to the twelve apostles, handpicked by jesus!

  according to this new understanding the fds did not come about into existenced until 1918/19... i forget the exact year.

  They have to say something to the questioning/complaining masses...........more lies......

  They have proven themselves how wise they are....NOT....they CAN'T interpet the scriptures. Funny thing is (I personally feel)....they have turned the bible into some elusive book which needs interpetation and "set themselves up as prophets" when infact they are no such thing.......

  I see. I'm not familiar with what a Rabbi would say.....what and how do they believe?? Could you explain?
